NO SCHOOL MONDAY: On Monday, the United States celebrates a true American hero, Dr. Martin Luther King. Dr. King worked as a Baptist minister and a civil rights activist and began making a significant impact on race relations in the mid-1950s. He was also a spokesperson for nonviolent activism during the Civil Rights Movement. He played a significant role in ending legal segregation of African-Americans in the South and across the nation. MLK is famous for his 1963, “I Have a Dream” speech. He received many honors, including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, before he was assassinated in April 1968.
POUND STORE: The store will be open today after school.
MORNING CHOIR: Are you interested in joining the Morning Choir?
Choir will start rehearsals next week! We rehearse on Wednesday mornings at 7 AM.
If you’re interested in joining the group, come pick up a sign up sheet from room 162. The group is open to all students grades 6-8! See Mr. Lehman with any questions.
8TH GRADERS: High School Choice Forms are due Friday 1/31. Use jump code BIBW on the LPS website to fill out the online form. No paper copies are available! If you are unsure which high school you are assigned to attend next year check out the posted list in the Counseling Center. If you have any questions please see Ms. Halvorsen or Ms. Smith in the Counseling Center.
FUTURE 8TH GRADE EAST SPARTANS: East is hosting an information night for interested 8th graders in person on February 5th at 6:00. For more information, 8th graders can join the Google Classroom with the code 76d4w24.

The 2025 LSE Future Knight Night: TONIGHT at Southeast.
FYI…any elementary student or middle school student that come Friday the 17th will be given the same popcorn/drink and t-shirt (first 450). The cost is $5.
