ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Rwanda Fundraiser update: With the help of four outside donors, Pound students were able to raise $2340.00 to send our 20 Rwandan students to school next year. Congratulations Pound students on an extraordinary job!

For all 20 of our students to have supplies for each trimester, we need $660.00 to meet our goal. Anyone who would still like to donate can drop it off in the office or in Ms. Simpson’s room 101. We will be planning some fundraisers throughout 2nd semester to complete our goal. Be listening for ways you can be a part of these events. 

When I hear from the kids in Rwanda, they say to thank you for giving them the opportunity to go to school. Thank you very much! Pound students are amazing!

7th & 8th grade Boys Basketball players:  Sign up for boy’s basketball will be this Tues. 12/10 after school in the middle gym.  No meeting.  Just sign up on your grade level sheet and grab a red permission card and go.  Tryouts will be this Wed. & Thurs. after school from 3:10-4:30. Please plan to attend both days of tryouts.

Intramural Drama, Speech and Debate is accepting registrations for all interested 6th, 7th and 8th grader students. A family information session will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Southeast High School in the auditorium. Please see the main office or your English, Language arts, Humanities or Drama teacher for more information or to pick up a registration form. Online registration is also available.

The LPS Oral Spelling Bee will be Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Culler Middle School. The Spelling Bee is open to students in grades 6-8. More information is available in the main office or from your English teacher. Online registration is also available.

MEDIA CENTER: The Library will be closed 7th period and after school today.

Kids in Action NEED YOUR HELP! Friday is the last day to help FILL THOSE BARRELS for the Food Bank. Donations will be accepted before school in school in the Commons, in the 6th grade hall, and donated to the Food Bank. While any non-perishable foods will be accepted any day, Thursday is Breakfast Day and Friday is Random Day -bring anything. 

Kindness Craft Club: Are you a 6th grader that signed up for Kindness Craft club? If you signed up, come to the library TODAY for a front of the line pass or just bring your cold lunch to the library to eat as you craft! 

Latina Youth Conference: If you have your registration form for the Latina Youth conference, turn them in to your counselor by Friday, December 6th.

While any non-perishable foods will be accepted any day, there is a theme for each day. Today’s theme is Fruit and Veggie day.

Watch for signs around the school and listen to the bulletin for facts regarding Hunger and theme days.

Sign up ahead of time to reserve your spot on the Club bulletin board in the lunchroom! This will be offered on December 3rd during lunch recess time!
