RED CARDS FOR TRACK: Your red cards will be turned in at the first practice on March 18th.

Karaoke club is canceled today.  Not enough students signed up unfortunately.

KINDNESS CRAFT CLUB: Are you a 6th grader that signed up for the Kindness craft club?  If so, remember you are eating your lunch in the library today. If you need a front of the line pass, stop by the library before going to lunch. 

8th Grade DC Trip travelers: We will have a QUICK standup meeting in Mr. Spieker’s room, Room 124 immediately after school TODAY!

MEDIA CENTER: Have you seen which Golden Sowers are competing against each other yet in our Golden Sower March Madness?  Come by the library today to see the brackets or type in the jump-code: YEYS on the LPS webpage.  And it’s not too late to check out a Golden Sower book to read over the break!! 

Last day of Quarter 3! When you come back we will start Quarter 4. Please remember to check in StudentVUE for any schedule changes. No paper schedules will be handed out. Mistakes or missing classes only need to be brought to the attention of your counselor before you leave for spring break. 

LHS The Pomalinks will be having tryouts for the 2020-2021 Squad March 23rd-March 27th. The Pomalinks perform at all LHS home Varsity football and basketball games, pep rallies, and many additional community events and competitions. See Mrs. Holm in the office for additional information.

Brain Injury Awareness Day: FUN FACTS: Every 23 seconds, one person in the U.S. sustains a brain injury. Every 7 minutes, someone dies of a brain injury.  One death every day and one brain injury every four minutes can be prevented by the use of helmets in recreational activities, including skiing and biking.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is a silent yet serious epidemic currently leaving 5.3 million Americans with disabilities. This represents over- 2% of the US population.

Congratulations to Pound Jazz I for their performance at the UNO Great Plains Jazz Festival! We received a superior (1) rating and individual performance awards went to Vaishvika Balamurugan, Asher Robinson, Kalainey Nickel, Mason Buller, Trevor Sulley, Jay Schneider, Chantelle Runyan, Max Heaston, and Jenell Dynek.

MEDIA CENTER: Today is Read Across America day. To help celebrate, the library is open during 6th and 7th grade lunch to READ. There will be no bikes or foosball – instead you can cozy up with a book. You can bring your favorite book or Mrs. Rigoni will have some good quick reads out and available too.  

It’s almost March Madness time and here at Pound, we are going to have our own March Madness of the Golden Sower Books.  The Book Brackets are posted up on the screens in the Library.  You can also view them by going to jump code: YEYS. The Games begin on March 16th! In order to participate in the voting, you have to of read the Golden Sowers competing against each other! Stop by the library today to check out the Sowers you haven’t read yet!
