FRIDAY FOOD MARKET: Today after school in the cafeteria.

Congratulations to the following students for their performance at the 8th grade LPS All-City Instrumental Music Festival at Kimball Hall. Band students were Vaishvika Balamurugan, Carson Pierce, Abby Buller, Mason Buller, Jenell Dynek, Olivia Eitzmann, and Chantelle Runyan, Emma Glasgow. Orchestra students were: Kanana Kairigi, Kalainey Nickel, Asher Robinson, Vaishvika Balamurugan, Amanda Holding, Ruth Fruh, Josie Roper, Keely Bennetts, and Jill Anderson.

Jazz II starts Monday, 1/13 3-4:00. Open to any grade, any instrument. No audition, just show up. Learn the basics of playing in a jazz style and start improvising!

Second semester planners are now available. If you would like one, stop by the counseling office or main office to pick one up.

MEDIA CENTER: The Library is open today during 6th-grade lunch. Come reconnect with your friends while playing games.  

8th graders: Check the list by the counseling center to see what high school you are scheduled to attend next year. If you wish to attend a school other than the one listed by your name, you will need to fill out a High School Choice Form and turn it in by Jan 31st.  After the January 31 deadline, any incoming 9th grade student who submits a Choice Form selecting Lincoln High, East or North Star will have their application denied as these schools are closed to transfers. Forms can be picked up and returned in the counseling center. 

It’s coming. Your chance to have your very own Rwandan style soccer ball. Join us in room 101 on Friday to make yours. Sign up in the cafeteria today. Help us out by bringing your plastic grocery bags to recycle in the office.

6th Grade Band: There is early band practice on Thursday Jan. 9th at 7:00 A.M.

MEDIA CENTER: The Library has lots of Golden Sowers in right now! Remember, if you read 4 within a category by April then you win an ice cream party!

Thinking of joining choir? Stop by room 162 to grab a sign up sheet for spring semester choir! Join either the 7th-8th grade choir which meets on Mondays or the 6th grade choir which meets on Fridays. It’s a great way to improve your musicianship- no equipment required. See Mr. Lehman if you have questions.

STUDENTS please remove everything from the outside of your locker. Pound Pals will be doing a locker clean up after school on Thursday. Anything left on the outside of the locker will be recycled. Pound Pals that signed up to help with locker clean up on Thursday please report to the counseling center after school.

Green Team is extending the 31 Calendar of Things to help the Earth through this Wednesday.  If you have a form filled out, turn it in the grade level container by the Commons security desk or in the library by this Wednesday.

LOST & FOUND: Make sure you look through the table of lost and found items in the commons for anything that belongs to you. Items left at the end of the week will be donated.

Attention 8th graders: During lunch on Wednesday we will have visitors from the Arts & Humanities Focus Program here to hand out some info and answer any questions you may have about their program.

DC TRIP: 8th Graders going on the Washington DC trip, Please remember that we will have a brief mandatory meeting immediately after school today in Mr. Spieker’s classroom, Room 124. Meeting should not take long If everyone gets there as quickly as possible.

WRESTLERS: All wrestlers need to stop by Coach Skiles room (Shop 142) sometime during the day or after school. He has free stuff for wrestlers.
