ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

IB ACADEMY DAY: 7th and 8th Graders-Lincoln High is hosting an IB Academy Day. This is a great way to see if the IB program is a good fit for you.  IB Academy Day will be on Saturday, November 8th from 8 am-Noon at Lincoln High (2229 J St.). Registration is required. PICTURE RETAKES: Picture retakes will be on Friday. If you were absent you do not need to sign up, we will call you down. If you would like your picture retaken, sign up in the office.

POUND EQUITY: The Pound Student Equity Committee is a leadership group that will meet regularly throughout the year to learn and discuss equitable outcomes for all students. You can nominate yourself or a friend/peer that you think would be a leader in this area. 6th grade has many open spots but students from other grades may be nominated. Staff members can also submit nominations using the jump code: YHRI. Nominations are due today at the end of the day.

BOOK FAIR: The Pound Barnes and Noble Book Fair is coming up!  Saturday, November 8th from 9 am to 1 pm, join us at the South Pointe Barnes and Noble for a morning full of fun.  Cookie Decorating, Bookmark Coloring, Scavenger Hunt, Photo Booth and more!  This event is coming to you courtesy of The Young Librarians Club and Student Council. We hope to see you there!

NAS: The Native American Success Group will be meeting in Room 204 after school today to make posters for Native American Heritage Month, which is November.

Intramural Drama, Speech and Debate is accepting registrations for all interested 6th, 7th and 8th grader students. A family information session will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Southeast High School in the auditorium.  Please see your English, Humanities, Reading or Drama teacher for more information. This program is free.

The LPS Oral Spelling Bee will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Culler Middle School. The Spelling Bee is open to students in grades 6-8.  More information is available from your English, Humanities, Reading or Drama teacher
