POUND PALS: New Pound Pals, don’t forget!  We have scheduled the New Pound Pals Workshop for Thursday, September 16th from 3:00-3:45 pm in the Media Center.  It is our major meeting for the year and the training is required for new Pound Pal members.  See your counselor if you have a problem with making this meeting.

EAST BASKETBALL SKILLS CLINIC:The Lincoln East boys’ basketball program would like to invite middle school players to attend our basketball skills clinic on Monday evenings beginning Sept. 20. Please stop by the office to pick up a flier if you are interested.

CHOIR: Morning choir is now open to students in grades 6-8. This is a change! If you’re a “morning person” who likes to sing, please come pick up a sign-up packet in the vocal music room. Choir meets on Monday mornings at 7 AM and does not conflict with band, jazz band, or orchestra! Hope to see you (and hear you) there.

TO ALL STUDENTS: MAP Reading make up testing continues. If you did not complete the MAP reading test on September 1 and 2, you will be finishing up this week.  Your teacher will have a pass for you to report to either room 212 or 214 to complete your test.

TRIVIA: The answer to yesterday’s trivia question is Rhode Island.  Our lucky winner is Leann Braatz!  TODAY’S CONSTITUTION TRIVIA QUESTION IS: What was the name of the group opposed (against) to the Constitution?  Write your name and answer on a sheet of paper and put it in the jar outside Ms. Shelbourn’s Room 204 before 3:00.  You could win a $5 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble.

MEDIA CENTER: The Library is open for all lunches today. Eat your cold lunch in the library or get a recess pass from the cafeteria.

CLUBS: Crafty Critters in Rm. 120 from 3:00 – 4:00.

Clubs tomorrow: Chess Club in Rm. 134 from 3:00 – 4:00.

WORD OF THE WEEK: Evaluate

To examine and judge carefully; to assess; to appraise

A positive mindset is what separates the best from all the rest.

Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible
