It’s KARAOKE FRIDAY for 1st & 2nd lunches today!
Pound Ukulele Club will meet TODAY after school in Mr. Lehman’s room #162 from 3-4. Don’t have a ukulele? That’s fine. We have several you may borrow. Beginners are always welcome.
Pound Student Council is open to all students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade who are interested in activities that will help them support the school and community, develop leadership skills, make friends, and have fun. All students interested in joining STUCO, there will be an informational meeting Monday, September 10, in the cafeteria until 3:30. Plan your rides accordingly. If you can’t make it Monday, application forms will be available from Mrs. Kerns in Room 235 or from the office.
Attention all students: Are you a leader or enjoys helping others? If the answer is “yes” please consider becoming a Pound Pal. Pound Pals help with many school events, give tours to new student, and make and hang signs to support every student. All completed applications must be turned into the Counseling Center TODAY.
Clubs are starting up next week (week of Sept 10). Check the bulletin board in the cafeteria to see what clubs are being offered this year and sign up. To sign up for a club, add your first & last name to the sign up sheet and remember to show up! Sign up sheets are updated every Friday with clubs for the following week. All clubs are FREE and run from 3-4 after school. You can find all things club on Pound’s website under the “Stu Activities” tab. If you have any questions, check the website or see your counselor.
Are you good at math? Would you like to be better? Pound has an award-winning math club that participates in a national competition called Math Counts. Past members have participated in state competitions. If you qualify, you could even compete in a national competition. We meet Mondays after school in Room 211, from 3:10-4:00. See Mr. Furse if you would like to try it out but have other commitments on Mondays.
Athletic schedule for the weekend:
Soccer is at Roper Elementary playing Schoo at 8:00am on Field 2.
Volleyball is at Pound playing Lux. A TEAM plays at 8:30am, B TEAM at 9:30am and C TEAM at 10:30am.
Cross Country is at Roper Park along the interstate. The Girls race will begin at 9:00am. The Boys will race at 9:30am
