Please note that gum and candy are not to be brought to school. These items will not be allowed in classes and should not be brought into the building. Thank you.

We are currently in the design phase of a $13.4 million construction and renovation project that was made possible by the passing of the Bond Issue in February of 2006. Plans have been approved and construction has begun. Kingery Construction has been named the General Contractor for the project. Pound will get an additional gymnasium, 16 new classrooms, and a complete Indoor Air Quality renovation that will provide us the long awaited air conditioning and forced air heat we desperately need. Completion of the project is scheduled for September of 2009. We will remain in session in the building during the project and construction will go on around us. Thank you for your patience as we experience the pains of construction.

Please note that personal music systems (disc players, radios, MP3 players, etc.) are NOT ALLOWED in the school building. This is due to the increased numbers of problems we had with them in previous years.

PLEASE READ THIS POINT OF CLARIFICATION REGARDING STUDENT CELL PHONES IN SCHOOL.

We understand the desire that parents have for students to carry cell phones to facilitate transportation, etc. However, students are NOT to have cell phones in their immediate possession during the school day. Cell phones must be kept in lockers and must be turned off at the time students enter the building. Cell phones are to be used only outdoors and outside the school day hours of 8:00-2:58. If you need to have contact by phone with your student during the school day please use the school phone number (436-1217) or ask that your student call you using the school line. Thank you for your support with this issue.

Thank you for continuing to observe the "One-Way" traffic patterns we have established on 45th (Northbound only) and on LaSalle (Eastbound only) for after school pickup of your students. Your cooperation is vital to having a smooth pickup at the end of the day and in helping us with student safety in this process. IT IS WORKING!!

Have you moved or have plans to?

PLEASE NOTIFY OUR REGISTRAR, MRS. HITZEMAN, (436-1200) IF YOU HAVE MOVED OR WILL BE MOVING AND NEED TO HAVE YOUR ADDRESS CHANGED IN THE SCHOOL COMPUTERS. IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO FILE OTHER PAPERWORK IF YOU HAVE MOVED OR WILL MOVE OUTSIDE THE POUND BOUNDARIES AND WISH TO CONTINUE ATTENDANCE AT POUND.
